When you opt for a plastic surgery procedure, the big thing on your mind is what your results will look like. That is why it can be frustrating to find out that they are visible the moment your surgery is complete. It is important that clients understand what to expect after liposuction so they know when they can evaluate the results.
Directly After Liposuction
In the hours and days after liposuction, you may notice a slight difference or nothing at all. This is because your body will be hidden behind compression garments that help with healing. There will also be plenty of swelling that could make you look larger than you were before. Typically, swelling starts to go down by the start of the second week.
Changes may be seen right after liposuction, but these are not the final results.
Over the Next Several Weeks
As time goes by, the swelling should steadily continue to go down. As this happens and the compression garments come off, you will be better able to see what liposuction has done for you. However, this is not when final results are visible.
Several Months Post-Surgery
After many months have passed, the residual swelling should finally dissipate. Finally, you will be able to see the full results of your procedure. While liposuction results time is spread out over several months, the majority of clients find the wait to be worth it.
